Frequently Asked Questions
We ship our products globally. If we run out of stock in your country we can often divert stock from our central distribution storage location. This does mean delivery will take longer, however we reduce the price to you pay. So if your prepared to wait a little longer, you can get a great deal! Diverted stock orders typically take 10-15days (but there can be some variability depending on your location and customs inspections). Customs and duties fees are pre-paid by us so there are no surprise fees when your item arrives.
How Often Should I Use My Red Light Therapy Panel?
Consistency is the most important factor for effective red light therapy. For general wellness and skin health, using the panel 3–5 times per week with sessions lasting 10–20 minutes per area is ideal. For targeted issues like pain relief, you can use the panel as needed, ensuring at least 8 hours between sessions to avoid overstimulation.
Regular use delivers the best results over time, while occasional sessions can still provide effective relief for acute conditions like muscle soreness or joint discomfort. Adjust your usage based on your goals and specific needs.
The best time to use red light therapy depends on your goals. For general wellness, muscle recovery, or pain relief, it can be used at any time of day. If you’re looking to promote sleep, using red and near-infrared light in the evening is ideal, as these wavelengths can help relax the body and regulate your circadian rhythm. In this case, it’s recommended to turn off the blue light setting, as blue light may interfere with melatonin production before bed.
However, blue light can be beneficial in the morning to help reset your circadian rhythm and boost alertness, especially if you’re exposed to limited natural sunlight. Tailor your sessions to your lifestyle and goals, and remember that consistency is key for achieving optimal results.
What Does Each Therapeutic Wavelength Do?
- 480 nm – Blue Light:
Blue light is widely recognized for its antibacterial properties, making it highly effective for targeting acne-causing bacteria and reducing skin blemishes. It also supports skin health by stimulating collagen production, enhancing skin texture and tone. A lower intensity of blue light is often sufficient for surface-level skin treatments, typically used for short sessions. - 630 nm – Red Light:
This wavelength penetrates the surface layers of the skin, promoting skin rejuvenation by reducing inflammation, improving circulation, and accelerating wound healing. It’s ideal for boosting collagen production and enhancing the skin’s natural glow. Moderate exposure is often recommended for noticeable results, with daily use for 10–20 minutes being a common protocol. - 660 nm – Deep Red Light:
Known for its ability to penetrate deeper into the skin compared to 630 nm, this wavelength directly enhances mitochondrial function, boosting cellular energy (ATP production). It supports tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and promotes muscle recovery. Consistent use at moderate intensity is ideal for achieving these benefits, making it a favorite for both skin and muscle treatments. - 810 nm – Near-Infrared Light:
Near-infrared light at this wavelength penetrates deeply into muscles, joints, and even bones, making it highly effective for reducing pain, improving blood circulation, and supporting neurological health. It’s particularly useful for treating chronic pain or deep tissue injuries. A combination of pulsed and continuous settings at moderate to high intensities can maximize its effectiveness. - 830 nm – Near-Infrared Light:
Slightly longer than 810 nm, this wavelength is particularly effective for stimulating collagen production, improving skin elasticity, and accelerating muscle recovery. It’s an excellent choice for anti-aging treatments as well as post-workout recovery, with higher intensities being beneficial for more targeted results. - 850 nm – Near-Infrared Light:
One of the most versatile wavelengths, 850 nm supports overall cellular function, reduces inflammation, and aids in fat loss and muscle repair. It’s deeply penetrating, making it ideal for full-body treatments or targeted deep tissue therapy. Consistent sessions of 10–20 minutes at medium to high intensity are recommended for optimal results. - 940 nm – Infrared Light:
This wavelength penetrates the deepest of all, reaching joints, ligaments, and other dense tissues. It’s ideal for alleviating joint pain, reducing inflammation, and supporting deep tissue healing. Sessions using this wavelength are particularly beneficial for athletes or individuals with chronic joint or muscle issues.
Eye protection is generally not required for red and near-infrared wavelengths (630–940 nm), as these are non-ionizing and safe for most users. However, the Peak Radiance Pro includes a small amount of blue light (480 nm) at a low wattage. While the intensity is minimal, blue light can cause slight eye strain or discomfort with direct exposure to the eyes during extended sessions.
For added comfort and safety, you can wear protective eyewear or simply close your eyes during use. If preferred, the blue light setting can also be turned off, allowing you to focus solely on the red and near-infrared wavelengths. Always prioritize your comfort and consult a professional if you have pre-existing eye conditions or concerns.
Yes, red light therapy can safely and effectively be used on pets to treat conditions like arthritis, wounds, and muscle soreness. Studies have shown that wavelengths in the 630–850 nm range help reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and promote healing in animals. For example, research on dogs with osteoarthritis has demonstrated improved mobility and reduced discomfort.
Typical sessions last 5–10 minutes per area, depending on your pet’s size and condition. Always supervise treatments and consult your veterinarian to ensure it’s suitable for your pet’s specific needs. Red light therapy offers a non-invasive, drug-free way to support their health.
While sunlight provides a broad spectrum of light, red light therapy delivers specific, concentrated wavelengths (e.g., 630–850 nm) that are scientifically proven to target cellular repair, reduce inflammation, and boost energy production. Think of it like the difference between diet and supplementation—you may get some red and near-infrared light from the sun, but not in the concentrated doses needed for therapeutic benefits. With modern lifestyles keeping us indoors most of the time, it’s often impractical to get the duration and intensity of sun exposure required to achieve these effects.
Our red light therapy panels use both visible and non-visible light wavelengths. While the visible red light (typically around 660nm) can be seen by the human eye, the near-infrared light (usually around 850nm) falls outside the visible spectrum and cannot be seen. This is completely normal and does not affect the effectiveness of the therapy. Even though you may not see all of the lights turning on, the panel is still working as intended, delivering the therapeutic benefits of both visible and non-visible wavelengths for optimal treatment.
